BOYDLee Studio ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Mess GPS mobile application (the "App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you understand how your data is handled, especially regarding our Artificial Intelligence (AI) features.

By using Mess GPS, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Age Limitation (Important)

This App is intended for use by individuals aged 18 and older.

The App utilizes Google's Gemini API for image analysis, which strictly prohibits use by minors. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will immediately delete it.

2. The Data We Collect

A. Information You Provide

  • Photos: When you use the "Analyze" or "Continue Cleaning" features, you upload photos of your physical space.
  • Account Information: If you sign up, we verify your email address via our authentication provider (Supabase).
  • Cleaning Preferences: Your selected "Instruction Style" (e.g., Spark, Gentle Guide, Drill Sergeant).

B. Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage Data: Cleaning stats (tasks completed, debris removed), session duration, and feature usage.
  • Device Information: Device model, OS version, and device identifiers (required for subscription management).
  • Sensors: Data from your device’s accelerometer and gyroscope is used locally for the "Bubble Level" feature to help align progress photos. This sensor data is processed in real-time on your device and is not stored or transmitted to our servers.

C. Financial Information

  • Transaction History: We track your subscription status (Free/Premium) and "Compute Credit" balance via RevenueCat.
  • Payment Details: We do not store or process your credit card numbers. All payments are handled directly by the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

3. How We Use Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Mess GPS uses Google Gemini (models including Gemini 2.5 Pro/Flash) to analyze your photos and generate cleaning instructions.

Process

When you take a photo, it is securely transmitted to our backend (Cloudflare Workers) and then to the Google Gemini API.

Data Usage by AI Provider

  • Your photos are used solely to generate the task list and coordinates for the "Spotlight" feature.
  • According to Google's Enterprise/API Data Privacy terms, your photos and prompts are NOT used to train their public AI models.
  • Abuse Monitoring: Google may retain API data for up to 55 days solely to monitor for abuse (e.g., generating illegal content), after which it is deleted.

Ghost Overlay

For multi-turn sessions, a temporary version of your photo is stored to allow the "Ghost Overlay" feature (helping you align your camera for progress shots).
